Midnight Rodeo
Midnight Rodeo is one of my favorite bars. It’s located on a back alley in Angeles City, Philippines. I’ve been going there for years.
The atmosphere will remind you of a country music joint you might find in Beaumont, Texas. If you’re an American, it will definitely bring back memories of the US.
It’s just a down home, quaint little place.
There are no bar girls, strippers, or mama sans there hustling and pressuring you for money. It’s a reputable establishment where you can take your wife and girlfriend for a romantic night out.
If you end up at Midnight Rodeo by yourself, don’t worry. The waitresses all know how to dance. Just buy one a drink and you’ve got a dance partner.
There is no cover charge at Midnight Rodeo.
The Bands
My favorite band is the one featured in the YouTube video above. They play Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights if I’m not mistaken. If you’re into good-old-fashioned country music and rock & roll, make sure you go on a night that these guys are playing.
There is another band that plays on the weekdays. They’re good, too, but I like the folks in the video.
Drinks & Prices
They serve COLD beer at Midnight Rodeo.
I only frequent establishments that serve their beer ice cold. I’m constantly trying new places but will only return if the beer was delivered at the appropriate temperature. Midnight Rodeo has got the beer situation under control. After tearing up the dance floor for a few songs, I’ll usually down a frosty Pale Pilsen to stay hydrated. That’s the best way to get refreshed after working up a sweat.
The prices are very reasonable. You can spend the whole night drinking and get change back from 1,000 Pesos ($20 USD).
How to Get to Midnight Rodeo?
Midnight Rodeo is located on D. Galang Street in Angeles City, Philippines. It’s basically one block behind Phillies Sports Grill and Bar (if you walk down Raymond Street). If you take Constain Street from Fields Avenue, I guess you would say it’s two blocks. Either way, it’s a three-minute walk from Phillies.
My Thoughts?
If you want ear-deafening music, crowds, outrageous drink prices, freelancers, drunk assholes, and an expensive cover charge, go to High Society on Walking Street. I don’t recommend it.
If you want to listen to a great band, dance with your girl, and enjoy an evening out in peace, go to Midnight Rodeo. I love the place.
