Vegetable Prices in the Philippines
Here’s a sampling of the current prices (May 5, 2020) of vegetables at the small market near the Matain River. It’s located just north of the entrance to Santo Tomas. We’re in Zambales Province, just north of Barrio Barretto.
For reference, the Philippine Peso is usually around 50 to 1 USD.
- Onions – 120 pesos per kilo
- Lettuce – 120 pesos per kilo
- Japanese Cabbage – 70 pesos per kilo
- Cabbage – 80 pesos per kilo
- Ampalaya – 100 pesos per kilo
- Egg Plant – 60 pesos per kilo
- Tomatoes – 80 pesos per kilo
- Ginger – 300 pesos per kilo
- Garlic – 240 pesos per kilo
- Kalamansi – 120 pesos per kilo
- Cucumber – 80 pesos per kilo
- Bell Pepper – 200 pesos per kilo
- Green Beans – 120 pesos per kilo
- Sweet Potatoes – 50 pesos per kilo
- Syote – 60 pesos per kilo
- Carrots – 70 pesos per kilo
- Potatoes – 100 pesos per kilo
- Upo – 40 pesos per kilo
- Squash – 60 pesos per kilo
- String Beans 30 pesos for large bunch and 10 pesos for smaller bunch
- Okra – 10 pesos per small bunch About 6 or 7 stalks of Okra
