“How can anyone be silly enough to think himself better than other people because his clothes are made of finer woolen thread than theirs? After all, those fine clothes were once worn by a sheep, and they never turned it into anything better than a sheep.” – Thomas More – Utopia
We worry too much about how we look and not enough about how we feel.
I don’t have a lot of clothes to begin with. I gave away most of my wardrobe a few years ago. But, I was still holding on to a few items merely because they were name brand. I hardly wore any of them. They just didn’t fit right and were uncomfortable to wear. I recently got rid of those items and I’m glad I did.
You can put on the most expensive suit money can buy, but if it’s not comfortable, you’re going to focus on that aspect and be distracted with every step. That distraction is not helping you be productive throughout the day. It’s hindering you. It’s interrupting you. It affects your level of confidence around others. It causes you to be uneasy and fidget.
Give away the clothes that don’t fit you properly. It doesn’t matter how much you paid for them. They’ll fit someone else just perfect. Eliminate the temptation to be uncomfortable for an entire day. I did.
